It’s hard to believe I’ve been at this blogging thing for two years now. So many things have changed since then. I can remember the only way of finding new people to connect with was searching through people’s blogrolls. Now we have twitter. And the content I write about has had a dramatic change from my very first post about The Darjeeling Limited. These days it’s geared more toward design.

Last year for my one-year blogiversary I gave away a 3-pack of Field Note Notebooks. It was a huge success. So this year I am happy to be giving away a Flip Mino HD (courtesy of the awesome guys at Firehost) with two available custom skins designed by yours truly, that one lucky winner will get to choose from.
I thought that since I’ve recently gotten in to video blogging (excuse my absence) this would be the perfect gift to give. And who knows, maybe it will help you break in to the video blogging scene.

Hi Kyle, congrats on your 2 years. I’ve actually been wanting to get a Flip to document Jon’s (my boyfriend) recovery from his coma. As you know, he had a motorcycle accident on September 5 and is still in long term care. I’d like to be able to make a video montage (if you will) so that he and others can look back and see how far he has come. His family and I have been conserving our funds to help pay for medical expenses and bills. I really hope to get a chance at winning the Flip Mino HD because when I’m not busy designing, developing and following an inordinate amount time of blogs on design and tech, I’m out in the wild with the craziest bunch of friends getting into adventurous shenanigans armed only with my ever deteriorating 6 year old, 7.2 MP Sony Cybershot. I suppose after years of capturing some great yet blurred mini-clips of video, it would be awesome to start capturing the insanity in HD. After all, it should be about capturing the best moments in life… in HD!!!

I would love to win this camera! I want to capture more of the moments of my kids’ lives in more than just still shots. I love that this is portable and very cool looking, too!
I could attempt to spin a fascinating web of intrigue explaining why I deserve to win, but then I would be a big fat liar! There is always someone more deserving, such is life, heh. However, I can tell you what I would use it for; my friends started a music production studio and I am the web/documenting guy. Make a lot of videos of behind the scenes and how to processes of the mixing and recording, but the only camera I use is my iPhone! Which leaves a bit to be desired. So it would be awesome to be able to record some more viewable quality videos to share with the fan(s)

I deserve to win because I would put the flip to great use. I have so many things I want to use it for but alas I cannot complete my list because I don’t have one. I am sure there are people that deserve to win more then me but I can guarantee if I do win I will put the flip to work. I’ll take videos almost everyday to record all the different things I want to remember. I’ll use it for special events and just ordinary daily thingths to always remember the way my family is now.

Well, I’m not going to say I’m most deserving, however, I’ve wanted a Flip cam for such a long time and these are artsy looking with the skins. I’m an artist and writer and I’m always wishing I had an easy videocam to capture all the weird and beautiful things I come across in my travels. I’d love to be able to upload video to share with people. I also would love to be able to send videos to my family that isn’t here and take videos of those that are here.

It would be an honor to win this flip HD cam. I have been wanting to video blog for quite sometime and believe getting this can will help me start. With the flip HD cam I can talk to people from wherever I am located. I often go to many places like parks, library and downtown so I can share with people how I get my ideas and how they can find ideas. Congrats on the anniversary, Kyle! I really would like a Flip because I really enjoy making and editing movies but do not have any good tools to do so. The Flip would really help in that department.
