Excellent list. I too recently set out to create a playlist to help me through the cold months that so often remind me of love lost and dreams gone missing. Here’s what I came up with.

Winter Birds – Ray LaMontagne

Winter – Joshua Radin

Winter ‘05 – Ra Ra Riot
Cold Of November – James Germain
Angel In The Snow – Elliott Smith
Blindsided – Bon Iver

I admittedly took a more direct approach by simply typing the word “winter” into my library and went from there. I was pleasantly surprised at the results.

I was driving home the other day and had my iPod playing on shuffle, as I like to mix things up, and started to hear these songs that reminded me of the winters I spent in Japan. So I pulled out my Field Notes notebook and began to make a list of these reminiscent songs. Obviously it’s a list of my favorite songs, but what I’d love to see is feedback from others and what their playlist might look like.
